Get an extra eye on the road with the awesome Owl Car Cam. Founded by Andy Hodge, a former iPod product leader, this dash camera was designed to give you home-grade security behind the wheel. It’s packed with stellar features you won’t find elsewhere.
Dash cameras provide you with a record of what happens on the road. If you’re involved in a smash, video evidence could be hugely important in determining who was at fault. The Owl Car Cam gives you this — and a lot more.
Owl is intelligent
Owl shoots video 24 hours a day, so no matter what happens when you’re behind the wheel, there’s a record of it. It has high-definition cameras on its front and its back so that it doesn’t miss a thing, and you can check in on it when you’re away to ensure your car is safe.
Owl uploads video directly to the cloud over LTE, while its built-in GPS can tell you where exactly a clip was captured. If you want to save a clip to your phone, just say the “Okay Presto” voice command and Owl takes care of the rest.
Owl can identify crashes using impact sensors and automatically flag and save video recordings to your iPhone. The same thing happens when Owl detects that your car has been hit in a parking lot. This makes it easy to find important clips in your 24-hour timeline.
Owl is super-easy to install and you can do it all yourself in just five minutes. It plugs into the ODB port in your car for power, while its wires can be hidden along the windshield seal. The camera itself is secured in place using simple suction cups.
Pairing with your iPhone is as easy as scanning a QR code that appears on Owl’s screen when it first powers on.
It’s no wonder Owl is user-friendly and feature-packed. It was founded by Andy Hodge, a former Apple employee who led product development for the original iPod. Hodge spent time at Microsoft as its GM of Hololens, and at Dropcam, where he was VP of hardware and strategy.
You can order your Owl Car Cam today through the Owl website. At launch, you’ll pay $349 for the camera itself and one year of Owl service — saving you $70.
Own protects you from break-ins
Because Owl keeps recording even when your car isn’t running, it can alert you if someone attempts to break into your vehicle. Its LED floodlights activate automatically, lighting up the interior for maximum exposure and ensuring you get crystal clear evidence even at night.
